Balancing between Methodology and Professional Knowledge,
Ms. Dorka Balogh, Pázmány Péter Catcholic University (PPCU), Hungary
Place: B4-18

Time: 13.00 – 14.30
Description: In the proposed discussion Im inviting the participants to once again walk along the path that all of us (teaching LSP) have walked already. Aim: to share experiences and exchange ideas for (continuous) professional improvement.
1. Short introduction of the topic see title.
2. Participants fill in a questionnaire (5-6 yes and no questions) to warm up to the discussion.
3. The same questions are presented one by one, with a short introduction of a story or example as prompts to incite a discussion. The main focus is given to whether it is more important to have a methodological background as opposed to being a professional of a given area to be able to successfully teach the language of that area.
4. Conclusions. In case of less participants, there is more time for everyone to speak. In case there are a lot of participants, the discussion is more workshop-like.
