“International Course Collaboration – Introducing New Partners“,
Ms. Marianna Leikomaa & Mr. Henri Annala, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Finland
Time: 15.00 – 15.45
Description: International collaboration in education is an important way of offering students authentic learning experiences, but what happens if the international partner is no longer able to continue offering joint courses? Two TAMK teachers encountered this problem with their on-line course English Speaking and Listening, when the partner the course had originally been created with could no longer continue participating and TAMK teachers still wished to offer the course in their curriculum. A new international partner had to be found, quickly, and they needed to be ready to start facilitating the course on quite a short notice. How can you find the new partners, and how can they be instructed to pick up a course in just a few short months? The on-line course in question has now been taught with four different international partner teachers, from three different countries. Come and hear how it is possible to maintain the international collaboration, even when the original partners are no longer able to continue offering the courses.
